The new Santa Cruz Vala C e-bike has all the legendary ride qualities of a Santa Cruz – supreme handling, great suspension, and longevity – paired with the class-leading Bosch Performance Line CX motor and a versatile battery solution.
The new Bosch gen 4 drive unit is powerful, reliable and quiet. It has class-leading power delivery and rattle-free descending.
The 600Wh battery is over 2.2 lbs (1kg) lighter than the next size up (800Wh) and it is much smaller. This also makes for a smaller lighter frame. 600Wh is optimal for most rides. Low battery mass improves handling characteristics. The optional 250Wh PowerMore extender battery provides the freedom to cover more ground when needed.
The Vala has a bombproof, lightweight carbon frame, superior ebike suspension performance and tuneable geometry and kinematic create a chassis that exceeds where real mountain biking demands it. Its backed up with a lifetime warranty.
You'll notice a different suspension design on the Vala. Santa Cruz wanted to apply the advances in suspension design made on recent pedal bikes (VPP) to the Vala. There isn't enough room for optimum placement of a VPP when the motor is factored in so it was back to the drawing board. Moving to a 4-bar linkage for the Vala gives exceptional ebike suspension kinematics and significant gains in anti-rise (braking) performance. Another benefit of the 4-bar design is that there is far more seatpost insertion depth available for longer dropper posts.
The Vala Carbon C comes in three specification levels, the R-Kit, S-Kit and GX AXS. The C bikes are always Santa Cruz's best-sellers. If you want the no-expense-spared options then Santa Cruz also make the Vala in the Carbon CC which can be viewed here.
